Your vxl system will work fine it just won't be as fast or torquey as the vxl is 2pole vs 4pole on the castle motor. The link you posted is the same motor I am running but with a different esc. Just be careful that one has a 5mm shaft on it not 1/8 there is another version with the smaller shaft.
