Well your TEU(the ESC) should be fine it probably fried your RX due to the voltage it puts out.

Now where to get the parts I don't know UK shops, and most the stuff I get is off ebay

It ships to the UK, and is pretty cheap. It literally just plugs into the ESC on the one extra wire, and will not damage a radio or other electronics (I have the same one wired to a TEU actually that is going in my Tamiya hornet). When you connect that you disconnect the red wire on the 3 pin plug that is built into the ESC.

As for a new radio that is another issue you might have to look around UK sites to see if its cheaper to buy a new receiver, or just buy a whole new cheap 2.4ghz radio.
