With this radial porting it looks like the transfer charge just goes straight out the exhaust, I might try a real steep domed piston or deflectors on the piston top ,
Radial ports do work but you may have lost most of the air-speed in the new charge, as you will really loose a lot of the crankcase pressure with the long extension beneath the cylinder.
