Programming the ECU
Terry,
The ECU must be programmed to the transmitter throttle stick pulsewidth.
There is a set-up procedure for doing this. See page 25, paqragraph "e" of the manual.
Within the Setup Menu, pressing the TCH (teach) control button will give access to the TEACH MENU. This menu is used to program the ECU to the throttle stick pulse widths at three positions: Hi throttle, low throttle, and engine cut.
In order to run the engine in the receiver control mode, (without the SDT) you must follow this procedure.
Here's the brief:
Enter the teach menu. then, set the transmitter's throttle travel adjustment (Code 12 on a JR 10X), to 100% for both high and low throttle positions.
Turn on the transmitter and receiver. The start-data display should should read THROTTLE HI and display a checksum number.
Move the throttle stick to full throttle, then press the SAV button. THROTTLE LO should be displayed. Throttle trim should be in the center.
Move the stick to low throttle, and press the SAV button. THROTTLE CUT should be displayed.
Move the throttle trim to low, and press the SAV button again.
The process is now completed. Your engine will now run with the radio control system. The memorizatrion process is required any time you change transmitters or model memory positions.
Have fun....
