If you're buying new, servos and ESC's are universal with all receivers. The ESC supplies power for your receiver, usually 5 volts. Everything that's current today is rated for 4.8-6v power, so there's no worries with using any ESC with any receiver. For radio gear, I would strongly recommend sticking with the major brands. Airtronics, Futaba, Hitec, and JR/Spektrum are all well proven units with good factory quality control. If that's just too much money for you, the Tactic systems seem to be gaining a following.
