Default RE: How long has your motor lasted?

[] More bad news. EGbasher brought up his Castle motor yesterday with the intention of my running it in my car, while my motor gets "fixed". The discovery? Although my ESC appeared alive via CastleLink, the BEC is fried (RX was not getting power consistently) and the motor would not work. ESC power output transistors apparently fried. The motor? Who knows. Maybe it's toast, maybe it isn't. Although I've already sent my motor to Castle, I just emailed them and told them to cancel the repair order and not to charge my VISA. I'm going to replace the whole system, probably with an EZrun, maybe the new DTX setup, although, since the ESC is also a Castle, it makes me wary. Plus, the DTX system is already waterproof. And it's only $20 more than an EZrun.
WRONG! Tower lists the DTX ERlement system at $129. And nowhere does it say the system is waterproof. Dang.
Igot another AutoReply from Castle: "<span new="" style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:">Due to unusually high volume, our response may be delayed 24-48 hrs. Thank you for your patience".
It's been a WEEK and no real reply from them yet!

Not impressed with Castle. Going to have to do more research, but Ithink I'm just going with a $70 EZrun like Ihave in my other car, unless I'm somehow convinced that a more expensive system will be more reliable and last longer. Ihaven't run my EZrun system as much as Idid the Castle, so we'll see how long it lasts compared to Castle. Too bad. Here I thought Iwas buying a quality product in Castle..........

Bitterly Disappointed
