Why did you mount the engine sideways?
At first I was going to use the supplied nose wheel. This would have put the muffler directly into the steering linkage. Because of this, I side-mounted the engine.
Then I decided to use the taildragger configuration, but the engine was already mounted. It doesn't hurt a thing being side mounted. Plus, it puts the fuel adjustment screws in a straight-up position.
With the fuel adjustment screws being in a straight-up position it makes it much easier to adjust the carb with the engine running. I know it's a little dangerous, but this is the way I've been adjusting any/all carbs for over 50 years.
