Tom...I was looking through the thread quick and saw your comments about taxiing
. One reason I went with the sportster instead of the 4star was due to the gear location in the wing which would assist the bashing into a golden age racer. Was takeoff squirrely as well needing lots of rudder
I found that if you bend the gear, mounted in the stock location, forward, the taxi problems go away. The axle needs to be even with the leading edge. I prefer to mount the LG on the fuselage, eliminating the wire gear altogether.
I do not remember any take off problems. With the stock gear, I just had trouble taxi-ing the model. Once it was up, on two wheels, everything was fine.
I think you will enjoy the Sportster way more than you would have the 4 Star. It's like flying a thoroughbred, versus flying a pony.
