RE: Aircraft Speedmaster
Hi Mike,
Wahat do you need to know? I have a set of Speedmaster speed traps that I purchased from some pylon buddies several years back. They are sky staring, light-activated sensors that measure the speed of objects traversinga verticaloptical plane. There are 2 sensors, spacedafixeddistance apart, and are triggered by a passing object such as a model aircraft. The elapsed time between the sensors is measured, calculated and displayed in real time on a hand helddata unit. The speed range is 7-499 MPH or the KMH equivalent. It takes about 15-20 minutes to set up-generallyalongside the runway edge with the data unit at the pilot stations. The whole set fits inside a typical tranmitter case. I brought my set to an early season jet together at the N. England Jet Club site last year andcan bring them again to our late April event or Plum Island in June.
Let me know if you need anything else.
'gards,
