Without the graphic pics nobody will really learn from his mistake. Sort of a wasted thread IMHO
Here's a picture.
damn OD, thats nasty... wishing you a speedy recovery! Will be back in air in no time. I sympathize, been there done that. Was reversing servos on an electric, wasnt thinking, left the engine plugged up, servo 1 reverse, servo 2 reverse, servo 3 reverse... BAM! Instant full throttle, caught me across the back of the hand. 2 surgeries and a year of physical therapy to be able to get back on the transmitter.. I have a very complete RCU thread here; [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4762505/anchors_4762505/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#4762505]Prop Bitten[/link]
So hang tough, it looks ugly, going to hurt like hell getting it back, but it'll be ok. Thanks for sharing and hope it prevents someone else from doing the same.
Physical Therapy?!? Wow. Mine wasn't that bad, 18 stitches. Happened May 1st, 2011. It's healed mostly but some of it still feels numb.
I got immediate service at the emergency room. The sight of oozing blood dripping on the floor get's 'em going really quick! My high-deductable insurance didn't pay for any of it. Ended up paying over $800 out of my own pocket.
The lesson learned was this: Take the prop off if you're going to power on your electric plane inside the house!
