I am going to have to say yes use the trim.  I am using the Nexstar edition from great planes that came with a Nexstar.  I have purposly moved all my trims just to get practice triming my real plane.  I am new to flying and want to learn everything I can on the sim before going to the field.  I have also tried aerobatics on the sim.  Thats a lot of fun.
