Newbie question about getting the engine started
I hope this is the right forum to post in....
I recently purchased a second hand Kyosho Inferno 7.5mp nitro from a hobby store here in Holland. The guy at the store assured me that the compression was good and I'd have no problem starting it. By the way, this is my first nitro car, so I wanted something to learn on.
Of course, Ican't get the engine to stay running.
I'm using a hot glow plug with 10% fuel, and have cleaned out the carb and fuel lines.
The car is now starting quite reliably, but after idling for about 30 seconds, it dies out. Also, if I hit the throttle at all, the engine immediately cuts out.
One more thing to add is that when the engine is running, Inoticed that the exhaust pipe is spitting out liquid fuel (I left my body shell next to the exhaust, and it was covered in fuel when I picked it up).
I really don't know what the problem is. Is the fuel not being fed into the engine?
I've only had the car for a few days, so I'd take it back to the hobby store, but it's located an hour away. Also, Ifind that people speak perfect English when selling you something, but the minute something is wrong with it, they seem to forget how well they can speak(it is my own fault Ididn't learn Dutch).
I've been digging around several forums, but Ireally can't seem to find a solution to my problem. I"m sure there will be a lot of different variables to look at, but if any of you experienced guys have some advice, I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you
Mark
