RE: 1st Annual Bakersfield D7 Spring Pattern Bash
I only have a few minutes right now as the wind has really started to blow and we are going to Lake Isabella to DS. I went yesterday and was able to get into the high 170's on a 20 mph wind which was a huge rush. Today it should be pushing 50mph winds and hopefully we will see speeds above 400mph. Its unbelievably fast at 200 I can only imagine what 400 looks like. BTW the record now stands at 498mph for a RC Glider. Imagine a 2.5 second circle at that speed. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all I have spoken to Richard and unless something unexspected comes up hes going to be here for the contest for sure along with Joe Bridi. This is awesome to just have all these people together in the same place again. Bob Gillespie emailed and even though he doesn't like to stray to far from home he's coming as is Rusty Van Buren. I think we will have 10 guys flying Old School alone which is going to put us over 40 for the event.
Everything else is going great, and Tony has been kind enough to step in and take on the Gee Bee Race part for us. We have the rules pretty much ironed out and that event is going to start Friday afternoon. Don't worry if your not able to get here It will be continued Sat. with the flyoff taking place Sun. before the awards.
The Trophies have been selected wait until you guys see them I think they are really nice. The first place Trophies are Crystal and will look great on any mantle. The food has changed slightly it will be pizza and sat for lunch and Chicken with Beans and rice Sunday.
More later the guys just showed up from Austrailia to pick me up.
