Stick with the foamies at first because it's not a matter of IF you are going to crash, it's a matter of WHEN you are going to crash. That's just the facts when it comes to learning to 3D. If at all possible get a simulator for your computer. It's a great learning tool and way way way cheaper than wrecking planes. The sims are NOT perfect on the physics but they are darn close. I learned to hover on a sim and within an hour was hovering my 50cc Extra a foot off the deck. Good luck mastering the art.
