Default RE: First Annual Chuck Hartmann Memorial Pattern Contest, Riverside CA

This one's in the books. We had a fantastic flying day today. Light winds, bright sun and snow capped mountains as a backdrop. We waited for the sun to move (we got the weather to cooperate but we couldn't force the earth to rotate faster) and started at 10:30am. We finished with awards and had folks on the road before 3pm. Jarvis will post the results and some more pics soon. All in all I think everyone had a fun time. I tried to keep the lines moving as quickly as possible, which was a challenge due to the fact that this was an Advanced and Masters show primarily. We had to have Advanced and Masters judge each other frequently so I had to get creative with the flight order to keep things moving. I tried to drop judges towards the bottom of their class flight order. I think it worked out OK. We only had a couple pauses for judge availability the whole weekend.

Thanks to Randy McElhattan for doing the advanced field condition scouting and to he and Jean Greear for the scorekeeping. Thanks to both Mike and Jean for their total support and also to Bill Wallace, CD of record, for the award graphics and for his overall support.

Sorry I can't make it to Arvin so have a good time!!
