RE: Airtronics RDS 8000 Radio
I love my RDS8000 and it was my first computer radio. The programming is really easy to use, it works and works and works. No issues with my radio at all. I agree that having expo on the rudder would be nice, but I've been flying the Sportsman pattern sequences with it and flying very competively as well, even with no expo on the rudder. I kinda like having the dual rates on seperate switches for the ailerons and elevator. I also have the SD6G radio as well, which is very similar with the RDS 8000 and it does have the expo on all three control surfaces. You won't go wrong with the RDS8000 radio, or even the SD-6G radio as well.
