Is your TT mounted inverted? Mine is inverted. I pulled the plug out lastnight and found it to indeed be an OS #8. I changed it anyway and will try again. I have noticed that when I leave the glo driver on I can idle it down to 17 -1800 rpm and it just purs like a kittten.
