Default RE: SCALE JETS OVER RAYDON

ORIGINAL: DAVID WILDE

Hi Slick 33,
Some of you maybe aware that 3 years ago we were going to hold this event but we had a local complain about noise so we as a club decided not to go ahead with that meeting a similiar situation to Bickley jets which i understand they cancelled there's two years back now.
The complaint we found out later was not to do with turbine jets, however, the reason we have gone for scale jets is that they are generally a lot quieter because most are fully ducted installations and they are not flown at 300mph so don't take up so much sky.
It also gives the spectators more exciting aircraft to look at . Our last failed attempt had about 30 pilots booked in and we were hoping to have a good warm up meeting ready for the Bickley jets in June .Because we have a good grass field of about 300 metres any scale jet can be flown from here.I have even flown John Wright's Horten from here and we are picky were we fly this model.
We had quite a few bickley members book in last time and we also like to reciporate there meeting too.Two good jets meetings reasonably local within a month of each other and of course perefect weather.
As this is our first proper jet meeting we are going to restrict it to about 30 pilots so please book in as soon as possible so you get a place.
I will try and get a few shots of the airfield and i will put up an aerial map of the site shortly.

Hi Dave your comment on scale only will certainly put people off,any scale model with a bifucated duct is much louder than any sport model,i could come along and bring my AT3 but it is a very loud model, how ever my bobcat is much quieter which one should i bring???? By the way your Rafell is a noisey model so do you class that as quite!!sorry but looks like i best go to West Raynam, pity as i would liked to have come along, Hope you all have a good day and hope that the weather is better than of late regards Keith
