To give you an idea: A Phoenix Strega with a TT 46 and a pipe is competitive in the bronze class. The Tucano is a much cleaner plane.
Maybe Terry and Bert can chime in on it's legality. I took a brief look at the rules and it appears it is legal. As long as it meets the minimum 400 sq in.
I'm not sure how a 55AX compares to a TT46 on pipes, I just have the stock OS muffler and its kind of a torquey engine rather than a screamer. I think I would get a kick out or racing down their, but would like to pull it off without spending a ton on new gear. So finding the absolute cleanest airframe that would allow my 55AX compete can save me some serious cash over going with a YS 110.
