Default RE: RETRACTS

ORIGINAL: tacx

You say ''you don't see why pertinent info is necessary''. ???????

Here you go.

1. Disconnect retract wire from RX.

2. Remove retract.

3. Install new retract in same location using the original mounting method.

4. reconnect retract wire to RX.
Heh, thanks.

Yup that covers it!

For anything beyond that, we need info about the plane.

nitro208ca :

On MOST RC planes except the small inexpensive foamies, retracts are somewhat standard and interchangeable.

If your Robart's retracts fail, you can buy another Robart, get parts from Robart, or exchange the set for another manufacturer's retracts.

Foamies are completely different, because of lack of information, proprietary setups, weird configurations, etc.

Your query suggests you had/have a foamie. As such we really need more info.

Even what you subsequently provided is insufficient.

Since you do not know the vendor I would suggest posting close-up pictures so people could give you a close match.

Barring that your only recourse is to TRY retracts from other vendors and see if they'll fit or work for you.

Replacing stock/flimsy retracts with newer electronic ones may be a better option for you, but you may find that this MAY cost more than your plane.
