I'm not an instructor but I do know a little about the first version. If it comes with the landing gear mounted speed brakes, take them off. Also, don't use any self-correcting gear as it's counterproductive for what you want to do. I would install the wing mounted speed brakes(if included) for the first few flights to keep the speed down so it doesn't get away from you. BE SURE TO INSTALL THE LEADING EDGE EXTENSIONS AND FLY IT LIKE A TRAINER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you try to fly it like a fighter any time soon, it will end up in the ground. I'd leave the extensions on it through the summer and get used to flying it before you remove them and, even then, keep the speed down for several flights to get used to the different flight characteristics
