Default RE: A new rogue pilot with questions

JetMech,

Unless our friend is going to have an experienced instructor, I see no point in having a more efficient prop. It will keep him going slow, with the engine at full throttle. A good idea, when he forgets to pull back the throttle stick. As lots of beginners do.

Since the plane will be going slow at full throttle, he'll need the extra lift from the flaps, at low speed.

Conversely, he could do as countless others have - put on a good prop, make the plane slick and speedy, and slam it into the ground at full throttle before he has time to react. Not much of a learning experience.

Just my opinion, results may vary.

Best wishes,
Dave Olson
