Better Second Plane
I've been told by a flier at my field that has a SE that in his opinion, if the controls are set for mild deflections, it would make a descent trainer.
I know that the Kavalier by SIG is a very nice flying second plane. Very smooth and forgiving. Almost lands itself. A tricycle gear may be a better choice as you continue to learn, but of course that's up to you.
