Mirce,
I should have paid closer attention. I remembered that you had a problem with the gear plate early on, that the gear would not retact all the way into the wing. Since Wayne didn't mention anything about that, I just built it to plan. A little ''dremel'' later, all is well. Gear is almost completely in the wing. I'll make some templates for the ribs and doublers for the other wing. If anyone is just starting out, let me know and I'd be glad to provide them. Much easier to cut before they are glued in.
Thanks,
the problem is not the plane, its the gear. for some reason Sierra changed the retract angle. My first set of Sierra's fit in the wing with no problem, they were 85 degree. my second set are 87 degree and dont close in the wing. the second set are real sloppy compared to the first. I was able to repair the 87's where they work just fine now. My friends gear for his are 87 degree and don't close in the wing either. so this means in my shop are three pair of Sierra p-47 gear for Meisters and no two pair are alike. none of the parts will interchange between any of them either. they all have different legs and different travel in the strut. I don't have time for pictures to show how to fix the gear without having to modify the gear block. we leave thursday for warbirds over Texas. If anyonbe needs to see how it will have to be after we get back. Jeff
