RE: 1/12th Scale Edf Concorde
Had to get another table so i could work on both wings together. Both wings were placed on the tables once both tables were set up for this
step. I also got 2x3x96" stud to align both wings. Basically both wings were set on each side of this stud, leading edge strips were loosen up, this allowed spars to move easily, then both root ribs were clamped on the stud, this straighten the ribs against it, then opened up my drawings and started to measure each spar's tip for it's ground clearance, this way i start to match all the ribs that were bit off by taking out that particular spar and cutting the root joint on better angle so tips would measure the same as on the drawing. Took few hours to do this as there were few that needed this attention. After this, i made sure all the spars were 90 degree to the root rib and then did same with ribs to the spar joint angles. I still haven't glued anything as yet, i will go over again to make sure all are perfect before i glue these the joints together.
Another area of concern is where main landing gears will mount, now do you guys suggest to add lite ply strengtheners on both front and back spars and then both rib or should i use triangle gussets on each inner corner, and then do 6.0oz carbon cloth's lay up on the inside of these boxes....
