I recently received an inquiry regarding the gauge of the wire that was used to wire this power supply, so I thought I'd also post that info here.

A minimum of 18 gauge wire should be used on the input side of the transformer and 14 or 16 gauge on the output side. The output side being lower voltage and higher amperage requires slightly heavier wire. It might be easiest to just use 14 or 16 gauge wire for the entire thing.

For the wire that goes to the hot wire tool I use basic 16 gauge lamp cord that I bought at Lowe's.
