RE: Ziroli Spitfire
The Z Spitfire will probably be my next build, however, i am weary of it because of the difficulty in hiding a muffler in the cowl. I have a Z Hellcat, Z Bearcat and Z Corsair which all have a big, round cowls giving you lot's of room for batteries, ignition box and a pitts style muffler. i also have a Z Mustang which has been a pita because of the narrow cowl. I had to cut a huge chunk out of the side of the cowl for muffler clearance...it looks like crap.
Engine cooling is a secondary concern since the cowl on a Spitfire is fully enclosed. These two issues alone makes me consider a Meister P-47, although nothing flies like a Ziroli, and the Spitfire is one awesome looking airplane.
