Default RE: High torque starter??

Nice job. Great starter. I have one as well. Best I ever had.. Brian

ORIGINAL: w8ye

You can buy a Miller reduction unit for a Sullivan Dynatron Starter. I think they are around $125? You have to call them for they do not have a web site

The Sullivan starter itself costs as much as $100 from some places but with a little careful searching, you can find it cheaper as follows

Mount it to a Dynatron bare motor unit that costs $37,59 http://www.advantagehobby.com/116756/SUL98603/

Some of the rest came friom Advance Auto parts . . . .

Two muffler clamps

12 ga wire red and black

Wire terminals

HD SW

Clear tubing at the hardware store

Double sided foam tape at the drug store

I bought a crossover capacitor from Radio Shack to use as a arc supressor on the switch.

The batteries came from a Ham Radio swap meet $5 each

Actually I bought my Miller and Dynatron in like new condition at a swap meet for $90. Where I took the front plastic cover from the the starter and re-shimed the cogs on the Miller, I also removed the original Sullivan switch assembly. This left me with the bare Sullivan replacement motor unit with a $5.76 rear cover on the starter which is actually not needed.
