I thought that I would "strengthen" the cowl before cutting the cowl-flaps........so ran some carbon fibre tape,with resin around the inside,close to the mounts and over the "hinge line" for the cowl flaps....This has made the cowl "firmer" and also added some weight ( which will be usefull weight in the nose ).
Then stareted cutting the cowl flaps............very nearly cut through one of the mounts !!!!........I also cut away the lower "joint" to the lowest cowl flap on each side....just helps with the air flow through the cowl a bit more.
As the exhaust is pretty close to the cowl side ( at the moment )...........placed a bit of "heat-reflective" tape inside the cowl.
