I have heard that the GWS floats are too small for it though
Nope the GWS floats are perfect for the slow stick. The hardest part is bending up the rear struts to match the front ones and to get them to stay attached to the boom of the SlowStick.. Been flying one with a stock motor off a lake behind my house for 3 years now. Just added a lighting kit to fly on those really calm nigts.
Nice thing about the Slow Stick if it flips over it floats on the wing and the float tips keeping everything but the motor dry, IF you move the esc behind the front wing hold down.
