Default Align Starter Experience

I have a new Align Starter purchased in February 2012 from Heliproz. The starter has now failed in the engaged position (always on). Has anyone experienced a similar issue or found a corrective action? I spoke with Assurance and they said warranty is only 90 days and there is no repair for Align equipment. They will sell me a new replacement for $70, but have no technical expertise.

This is my last Align purchase experience of any sort.
