dynam "ICANFLY" review
I have owned my dynam icanfly for over a year. I have probly 2-3 hours of flight time on it.
So, I bought the dynam cause I wanted to try a 4ch plane, but didnt dare drop 2-3 hundred dollars....for fear Id crash it.
The dynam was $120 shipped. It has a brushless outrunner, came with a lipo/charger and FM radio.
Issues:
The glue sucks. I used a hot glue gun instead.
The antenna came out of the rx box! pulled out really easy, weak solder joint. At first I was ticked, but I opened the rx box and found where the antenna needed to go and I soldered it back on.
Had a newb bought that plane, he might have been screwed. But I doubt this issue is common.
The landing gear is flimsy. Good for those rough landings, bad 'cause after awhile the gear was bent enough that it wouldnt take off straight. So I pulled it off and just hand launched it.
Good:
tough plane! I was learning, and so there were few nose dives, rough landings ect.
I broke many props, but the motor mount can take ALOT of abuse. And the foam is tough as well. The servos never gave me any issue, nor the linkages.
I did eventually nose in hard enough to snap the motor's shaft. but a replacement motor was like $12.
Larger lipo packs can fit in the plane. 15 minute flight times are easy.
Today, I flew her for the last time. Trying a fancy trick to low, I nosed her in hard. broke the prop, wing and added to the weakness of the motor mount. All electronic gear is still good and I could fly it if I replaced the wing. But Ill buy a new dynam instead.
Overall, I have loved this plane. It has good speed, glides awsome, lands easy, can fly inverted and loops ect. Basically, its gentle enough for you to learn, and capable enough for you to get the hang of things before you move up to a more complex plane.
I was worried when I 1st bought the plane. I knew there was a chance that buying a "cheap" plane could bite me in the butt. But the dynam, with the exception of the reciever issue, exceeded my expectations!
