Matt, how do the bore/stroke/porting compare to the OS?

I could imagine that you might have the most optimal gasser pattern set-up on the planet right now with the OS.

But DLE seems to be taking a crack at it!
Bob,

Not sure about the porting of the DLE....The bore/stroke of the DLE is about 1.27 (quite a bit overbore), while the same for the OS is 1.1 (closer to square). That doesn't mean all that much without porting data tho. Port timing and cross sectional areas of passages are most critical. Exhaust porting is critical for pipe use and boost as well. Compression ratio also is very important

Nevertheless, the DLE35RA appears to produce similar output to the OS, based on this one data point the earlier poster presented.... I will probably get one to see for myself what it does on pipe. I have a 50$ coupon from Tower so that brings the cost more in-line with most 30cc engines at around 300$.

The rear exhaust configuration works soooo much easier on pattern planes. No need to cant the engine to fit the header in the fuse; no need for an expensive Hatori RTC header, plus a stub header, or special shaped couplers to make things fit, etc. I believe the OS140RX Macs header from Tower should fit the exhaust of the DLE35 with only minor mods.
