Chris,

Sometimes INCREASING the time will actually decrease the spool up time. If you have it set too fast, the engine will automatically try to retard the throttle and end up increasing your spool time.

I can tell you here in Vegas we typically run 5 or 6 seconds, and nothing else out here spools as fast as our engine.

Which engine do you have??

You can also raise your idle RPM by 3000-5000, this will increase residual thrust only slightly, but also reduce your spool up time.
