Pete, I know you planned to bash this model, but this is not the way to do it! Seriously tho, I am very sorry to see a crash like that. I had a mishap myself this weekend at Johnstown when the motor on my H9 Sopwith Camel unexpectedly quit at a very bad time and the off runway landing was rough. The damage was mainly to the landing gear (happily, I have another set NIB) with some tweaks to the wings that a bit of thin CA and some patches should take care of.
Johnstown was very nice although the number of pilots seemed to be lower this year. I was there with my club president and I flew My Taylorcraft, my Sopwith and my DR1 each one time, with all good results saving the Camel. Here's a link to my film:

BTW, there were 2 H9 DVII's at Johnstown, one electric and one glow. Sadly, the glow plane had a flame out and an off runway crash landing. It sustained damage but looked to be an easy fix.
