Default RE: Jeti Mezon ESCs

ORIGINAL: cmoulder

I probably will. The weight of the 90 looks good (80 gm) and I'd like to try the BEC. It has to work as good as the Futaba/OS, and if it does I'll go for it. Somebody must have tried it.

Jim, what is the bottom line on the Futaba/OS? Pluses and minuses?

Thanks,
Pros:
1) It does everything I want an ESC to do.
2) Easy to program, quantitative settings in most cases.
3) Starts at idle with flip of switch, no need to jog throttle to get it to start.
4) Comes on and off brake with one click of throttle stick making brake functional on landings.
5) No anomalies like screeching under any conditions.
6) Runs very cool. Peak temps about 20F above ambient.
7) Reasonable price. $149 today. Available from well established source that can support the product.
8) I forgot - no spark.

Cons:
1) A little heavy - 4.4 ounces
2) Limited extras. Does store highest rpm during flight.

Until I see the Mezon I'd say it is the best buy out there.
