I have experienced some problems with ESC's lately.
Don't underestimate potential problems of some motor-ESC combination simply don't work.
My Himax has killed a Kontronik Jive HV80 regulator. BURNED! But I got a replacement which Iuse for my Plettenberg 30-10 EVO. Works flawlessly, and I wouldn't replace the combo for anything.
The Kontronik is lilght weight, has a redundant rx battery option, has a 15A BEC.
CC ICE2 HV80 is a very good ESC, but is useless if you are running Himax and need more than 30% brake (with current last software 4.01beta) The motor will squeek louder that a Rossi 60 without a silencer!

The SPIN99 is reccomended by all owners, so is the Futaba/OS.
