Didn't the designer say he achieved 125 MPH with a stock DLE 55? Don't have any experience with Desert Aircraft, but the DA 60 may be a good choice. A fellow at our field has the new 55R and confirmed a 100 RPM increase over the 55 side muffler.
What is the average speeds that most acro guys enjoy? I mean I would think around a 100+ would be a good top speed for most. I have never clocked my planes, yet I think my gassers move along quite well. At least for now they are fast enough for me. If a stock DLE 55 would move the 50cc Rev at 125 that is good for that size setup. Those looking for the ultimate speeds will be needing something stronger.
