Today I went to the One Eighth Fly-In at my field and took a few photos. Here are those:

When I got home I filed / sanded flush the brass pins on the struts. Once that was complete I removed the jury strut components from the old struts and removed the paint from the straps with a thinner soak. Once that was complete I put the jury struts onto the new struts.
When I start painting I will prime the struts and straps as one piece.
That is about it for the "Construction" portion of the repair. Next up is covering and paint.
