My local Dollar store also has cheap stuff and doesn't warrant it either, but...
they have nice people working there.
Dollar stores like HK have their place
Batteries may be one of the biggest benefits in dealing with HK. You can buy a huge slab of them and just throw the bad ones away and you have still saved humongo amount of coin. I don't use HK batts but I know many guys that do.
