You can adjust the throttle cure in the transmitter, if it's a newer computer radio.

What I have seen over 30 years of flying is that the you reach better than 90% power when you are just above 1/2 throttle, The trick is to adjust the throttle curve so that when you advance the throttle the engine respones through out the entire stick travel. This takes some adjusting and time to get right. Be careful doing so though.

that is what i am shooting for on mine and your right, it's taking some time... I been adjusting my end points on the TX (Futaba 7C) and still have some work to do.. The last time I flew the Pitts from idle to half was way to mushy, had a stiff wind and i ended up taking off in about 15' at a little above idle...

I have my linkage in as close to the servo center as I can, about 3/8".. Is there another way to adjust it besides the endpoints?
