The Exception is way later, mid-80's easy.
Chris...
Chris,
The point I was trying to make is that the Exception is not really a new design. The fact that someone decided to splash a glass fuse from their Deception 15 or 20 some odd years later, is of little consequence. In other words, if I showed up at an SPA meet and said: "I'm flying a Deception which I built from glass", would they actually turn me away?
If so there's more than a bit of a problem there.
The converse would be flying an SPA approved glass fuse design and deciding to build the fuse out of wood. Would the SPA then say: "Can't fly it, your fuse is not glass so it ain't legal!"
You see what I'm getting at? Would you be turned down if you flew a glass fused Curare? Would you be turned away if you showed up with a glass fused new GP DB ARF? It came about 40 years later...
The Exception is a glass fused Deception but otherwise there is nothing "later" about it.
