Is there a picture of the Exception ? When you say flaired out canopy what do you mean?

I'll get some pics up on this post from my computer later today.
The rear of the canopy is "pre-widened" as if one took a Deception canopy, cut off the rear at an angle and then glassed it closed. The closure is simply to facilitate the molding. It is expected that the rear is opened up in the construction to allow the pipe to exit.
Same as one would if building a Deception with a RE setup. Take a look at Kevin's Deception scratch build on RCG I think. I'll post a picture of it here as well. I believe he happened to use an Escape or XLT canopy which are a tad wider but otherwise the same concept.
