Default RE: Getting started

Seems no one will answer you so will give it a try. The IPS motor is a small gear driven brushed motor power system made by GWS. It draws about 2 Amps max safely or about 12 watts with a 2 cell lipo. Not sure if it still in production or not, but was used in their Lite Stick, Pico Moth, and a bunch of small foam models. My planes that used this power unit were 9 ounces and less. Caliber Hobbies and m-a-e.com are dealers for them in the USA but some local hobby shops may still have them in stock as they were very popular in the day. There are many replacements for this unit out there in the modern brushless world. Small micro servos should work in the 9 to 5 gram weight size. Lots of choices out there with them also. Hope this helps you out a little!!!
