Thanx MAUS45 for the clarification on the Modelltrans scale. That is exactly what I was thinking of using the models to help scratch build the MEXAS armour. Ichecked around and found a Polish website that sells three diffent variants of the Canadian Leopard 1 that is of interst in the 1/72 format. There are two companies, one called Cromwell Models and other is Modeltrans that created these kits.

From what I can tell whoever the builder is on the German website:

fabricated a lot of parts by sketching them out and going over photos from books, on the computer, etc.
