Default RE: New test and tune bench for Nano turbines from www.HAB.se

Iv'e gotten a couple of PM's and comments about the head to head test and I thought I'll post a general reply here too.

Someone thought it was unfair to compare a P20SX to a tweaked Lambert, but this is not the case. The T25-HP is a shelf product available to anyone. We are simply compareing the high end engines from both manufacturers to be able to make the convertion kit as good as possible. For a review of which turbine to get I would compare a T15 to a P20SX, I think those would give an airplane about the same performance. Need more power, then look for a T25.

Someone also thought our diffrent tests were irrelevant. So might it be, but they are still performed in the exact same way on both engines and there for very comparable. Again to gather data for the convertion kit rather then a review. Looking at the P20 tailcone it's pretty obvious it's hotter then 590°C when glowing red hence checking it out with the external probe. This misstake is also made by RCJI where the list says 621°C an the cone glows red. Looking at the GSU is obviously not a good way of checking EGT. (As there is a pressure drop over the tailcone the exhaust after the cone is colder then inside the cone.)

A youtube comment says that there "must be something wrong with p20sx did not start as clean and way too hot it will be in melt down zone in summer temp". I simply do not know, this is the only P20 I have ran. It starts and goes well, puts out about the thrust it's said to do and looks about the same as the other P20 videos at youtube. Anyone with more P20 experience want to chime in?

Someone also suggested reading the manual closer, well...we only recived a german manuals for the P20SE and another one for the larger turbines, not for the P20SX. Is there an url for the P20SX manual in english?

This is data from a stock Lambert T25 tested a couple of times during the year.
