RE: Radian or Cularis?
I have both the Cularis and the Radian..........fact is I've had 3 radians (1 original and 2 pro's). Both are great ships..........the Cularis is bigger, so heavier......it takes more lift to keep it up..........it handles wind better. It is a great entry level glider if you eventually want to fly large glass slippers or scale gliders......you can stall it easily if you get it too slow and especially if you are slow and trying to make a tight turn.....too low to the ground and you won't like the outcome. It is easier to see at altitude because of it's larger size. It flies quite a bit faster than the Radians....I like it a lot when there is good lift.
The Radians are less complicated to assemble and cost about half of what you'll get into the Cularis........they are lighter so it doesn't take much lift to keep them up. They can fly quite a bit slower than the Cularis and don't tip stall easily. The Pro would be a great first step before you own a Cularis. The Pro can teach you a lot about flying a full house ship and is very user friendly. If you just want a decent glider that can fly out of small areas.......something quick and easy..........the Radians are hard to beat. If you want more of a challenge......maybe on your way to larger scale gliders..........the Cularis is excellant.
I fly both and like both.......wouldn't want to part with either one.
My go-to, quick fly, relax and kick back ship is the Radian. If I want to be more serious about flying and the thermals are good, the Cularis is the choice.
