we laugh, but thats exactly what it was.. it was a lithium battery fire on the 787 dreamliner... dont know the reason, but the 787 is the new "electric" jet.. it has a massive electrical system because alot of the functions that were previously powered by bleed air, such as anti ice... are now electrically driven.. big fuel savings..

so its having some growing pains.. the FAA launched an airworthiness investigation today.. go figure..
