I did the same thing once for someone wanting similarly priced radio equipment here in the U.S. He sent the cash, I bought his equipment and sent it to him in Switzerland. I knew the guy thru an electronics list online and he had a good reputation. The package went through fine and he avoided a large import tariff because of my low dollar value declaration. Still, it wasn't exactly on the up and up. I offered to do this to help my friend out, but your loss is a lesson learned for me.
