I have read that the sky is falling if the Rx is any where near the ESC. I have been flying my Airtonics RD6000 with the Rx double sided taped to the top of the ESC for 4 years now and no issues. This is with the 72mhz. I had my RDS8000 Rx tie wrapped to the top of the Rx in another helicopter. No issues. They may not be an ideal way of doing it, but it has worked for me.
